On August 17, Russia asserted that Western missiles were responsible for the destruction of a bridge in Kursk. A spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that the bridge was struck by a U.S.-manufactured HIMARS missile. Reports suggest that a key bridge spanning the Seym River in the Kursk region was obliterated. According to Russian media, two volunteers lost their lives in the assault carried out by Ukrainian forces.
